Is Disney all it's cracked up to be?

So as most of you probably know, regardless of whether you were a fan or not the Jonas Brothers decided to call it quits a while back. It was a sad day indeed. Like I said in my introduction the Jonas Brothers are one of the main reasons I love music as much as I do so as you can imagine I was distraught when I found out they were over. There were so many questions left unanswered and I was quite honestly livid when I found out they just canceled tour and deleted their twitter out of the blue. When Joe decided to tweet this

giving some hope that maybe the tour might go back on and that there was just a minor argument.
They then announced about going on Good Morning America where they confirmed every fans' worst nightmare of a split between the three brothers. A little over a month later Joe, the middle member of the group, told the whole world of his experience of growing up in the spotlight on Vulture. As we all know Disney has been going to shit and heading that way pretty quickly over the past few years but Joe opens an entirely new can of worms in his article. He talks of how all three of them were pressured to be perfect all the time and because none of them ever wanted to disappoint anyone they put even more pressure on themselves to be perfect. Joe goes on to talk about how being famous isn't all it's cracked up to be and how there were days when they were all just plain miserable. Disney made the three brothers feel like they couldn't be themselves and like they were walking on eggshells hoping and praying they wouldn't screw up. Disney made them censor their music a ridiculous amount and pushed him so far that he finally said, "Screw all this, I'm just going to show people who I am." Props to you Joe for becoming your own person and even more props to you and your brothers for growing up in the spotlight and not going batshit crazy especially dealing with those little shits at Disney for so many years. As much as I hate to say the split was probably the best thing that could have happened so their family could stay together. Whether you're a fan of what was the Jonas Brothers or not you should still go read his article. I only gave a brief section of it and he talks more about what growing up as a part of Disney was like and to his love life and everything else in between.

Here's the article:

It's a great read, fan or not, and really eye opening to just what kids that grow up in the public eye can be put through. Oh yeah and it's another reason to wanna slap the shit out of execs at Disney because let's be real.... they are damn dumb. Joe's article doesn't answer all of the questions most fans have but at least it's gives us some reasons and closure for what was a huge portion for some of our lives, for me I've loved them since I was in seventh grade and I'm now a freshman in college so yeah it's been a while but anyway that's beside the point. If you read all of this you rock and yeah...
